Tell Hennepin County Leaders to Include Bike and Bus Lanes in Final Lyndale Street Design!
Tell project leaders and your county commissioner that you want a Lyndale that protects our air and climate, and is welcoming for people who walk, roll, bike and take the bus.
This summer, Hennepin County will release the final design for a once-in-a-generation reconstruction of Lyndale Avenue. Advocates like you have helped us build a powerful campaign mobilizing thousands of community members for a street redesign that includes spacious sidewalks, curb-level bike lanes, and full-day bus lanes.
In these final critical days before the design is released, we need to keep up the pressure to make sure project leaders and Hennepin County Commissioners support a Lyndale Avenue redesign that protects our climate, boosts local businesses, and makes the road safe and inviting for everyone.
Take action today to tell Hennepin County leaders they must include and support full-day bus lanes and curb-level bike lanes along the entire stretch of the corridor in the final designs.
We know Hennepin County recognizes the threats of climate change and has committed to net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The reconstruction of Lyndale Avenue will lock in changes to this critical corridor for the next 50 to 80 years, making the inclusion of dedicated bike and bus lanes an important step to meeting our climate goals—and safeguarding future generations.
Whether you’ve taken action in the past or are engaging for the first time, project leaders and County Commissioners need to hear from you!
Together, we can ensure the final designs create a Lyndale that protects our air and climate, and is welcoming for people who walk, roll, bike and take the bus!
