Rally for Bus and Bike Lanes on Lyndale Avenue!
Whether we walk, roll, bike, or bus, we all want to feel safe and included on our community streets. Right now, Hennepin County is creating key designs for the reconstruction of Lyndale Avenue South—and we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make this critical Minneapolis corridor welcoming and livable for all.
Join Livable Lyndale for a rally to show Hennepin County: We need design concepts that include dedicated space for both bus and bike lanes!
Livable Lyndale is a project of our Minneapolis Volunteer Team, which is working together to create a better street where neighbors and visitors can linger, businesses can thrive, and all of us can get around. We’re advocating for a reconstruction that will:
- Make more space for people through wider sidewalks, curb-level bike lanes, and full-day bus lanes
- Include all essential infrastructure for the coming Lyndale Bus Rapid Transit Line
- Complete the bikeway gap and fix the inaccessible sidewalk between Franklin Avenue and the Loring Greenway so it meets ADA standards and works well for people of all abilities
Join our rally in the median at 27th Street and Lyndale Avenue as we rock out to bike DJ Eric Moran, hear inspiring speakers, and make sure Hennepin County knows we want street designs that include dedicated space for both bus and bike lanes!
