From tabling events to neighborhood canvasses, from pedestrian rallies to bike rides, the Livable Lyndale campaign has mobilized hundreds of community members around a street redesign that plans for people, not the past. With the release of Hennepin County’s initial design concepts for the reconstruction of Lyndale Avenue, we know our voices are being heard.

Building on the momentum of National Bike Month, more than 100 advocates and community members came together this week for a dynamic bike ride and rally to show strong support for dedicated bike lanes and bus lanes on Lyndale Avenue South in Minneapolis.

More than 100 Rally for Bus and Bike Lanes on Lyndale!
Connecting with our neighbors, dancing to joyful music, and waving brightly colored signs, nearly 100 community members rallied in the median at 27th and Lyndale on Saturday afternoon. Mobilized by Move Minnesota staff and volunteers, the energized, intergenerational, multi-modal crowd garnered friendly honks of support from drivers and shared information with passing pedestrians about the once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a Livable Lyndale that’s safe and inviting for everyone.
