Transit Tours, Group Rides, and Bike Racks: Connecting Saint Paul to Better Commutes in 2025
As the capital of our state, how people get around in Saint Paul sets an example across Minnesota for what transportation can and should be like. Move Minnesota works in Saint Paul to connect people and places to transportation options that are healthy for our communities, our climate, and our economy.
As the Transportation Management Organization for the City of Saint Paul, we create custom transportation planning and commuter benefits solutions for employers and residential properties — and 2025 was a big year. Here’s just a snapshot of what we’ve been able to accomplish in collaboration with community partners!

Informing and Inspiring Commuters to Take Transit
This year, we continued our work making sustainable commuting accessible and stress-free. In March, with the opening of the METRO Gold Line, we hosted a celebration at Rice Park, spreading the word to downtown workers about the new fast, frequent bus rapid transit service between Saint Paul and Woodbury.
In July, we co-hosted a Mobility Mingle with the City of Saint Paul, popping up on the Capitol Mall to talk with state employees about their options for commuting sustainably in and around Saint Paul. In addition to our resources, Lime and Spin offered test rides to first-time riders, Lowertown Bike Shop provided free bike adjustments, and Evie presented information on their upcoming East Side expansion.
In the fall, we hosted two custom Transit Tours on the Green Line for MnDOT employees. It was more than just a ride—it was a chance to explore, learn, and build confidence together. We covered everything from purchasing tickets and station amenities to understanding the difference between the METRO Network and local buses. We also learned about valuable programs like Guaranteed Ride Home and nearby infrastructure like the Capitol City Bikeway.
The feedback was fantastic:
Move Minnesota was a huge help in organizing and hosting transit tours to help state employees become more familiar with transportation options… Events like these can show employees what restaurants, coffee shops, and other businesses they can easily reach over lunch or on a break.

Supporting Sustainable Transportation Amenities
Over the past year, our team expanded its business engagement, working with more than 20 developers and residential properties, visiting new apartment complexes and existing organizations to help them make it easier for residents and visitors to bike, walk, roll and use public transit.
For instance, this fall we visited Marvella, a senior living development in the Highland Bridge development located right next to an entrance on a dedicated bike path. Their amenities encourage mobility, including an amazing bike room with a secure access code, repair station and bike pump, and different levels of racks to accommodate different mobility levels.
We also continued to help organizations make car-free trips more convenient through our Bike Parking Cost Share program. In September, we celebrated the installation of three shiny new bike racks at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with a special Blessing of the Bikes. Gloria Dei is one of many organizations that now offer easy bike parking, making community gathering spaces more accessible.
Did you know that organizations in Saint Paul can get up to $1,000 for new bike parking through our program? Click here to learn more about the program and make plans for increasing bike parking at your location in 2026!

Celebrating Cycling: Bike Month and Beyond
Recognizing National Bike Month, we led a group of 35 riders from Como Park to a celebration of 75 bicyclists from Minneapolis and Saint Paul, provided bicycling resources at the Eco Fair on Summit, and ended the month with a group bike ride along the Capitol City Bikeway in Downtown Saint Paul.
With Saint Paul’s growing network of bikeways, we also hosted six group rides that celebrated and explored Saint Paul’s excellent bike infrastructure. From the Robert Piram Trail to the Creative Enterprise Zone and the East Side, we rolled many miles together exploring existing routes and learning more about how they connect our communities.
