In Minneapolis, C Line & Multimodal Hubs Offer Connections to the Major Taylor Exhibit and More

Options for getting around the Twin Cities continue to grow in innovative ways. In addition to getting us to work and school, using transit and shared transportation are great choices for exploring our metro neighborhoods and everything they have to offer.

Move Minnesota staff members hopped on the C Line and headed over to North Minneapolis’ Minnesota African American Heritage Museum. Hosted at the museum is a curation celebrating the history of world bicycling champion, Major Taylor. In addition to the biography of Major Taylor, the exhibit features brightly colored shirts and multiple accolades and trophies provided by the Major Taylor Bicycling Club of Minnesota, which has been promoting diversity in the bicycling community since their formation in 1999. The museum is free and open to the public. This exhibit is up for only a limited time.

Following the museum tour, staff members visited one of 12 mobility hubs in Minneapolis. We used the hub located on Penn and Lowry Ave. The city launched the hubs to increase access to convenient and sustainable transportation options. Across the river? Watch for more mobility hubs to launch in Saint Paul in the new year. When they do, the Saint Paul hubs will also incorporate electric vehicle carsharing through a partnership with Hourcar.
